This aviation training short course discusses the airplane's pitot-static system. Normal and abnormal operation of the system is discussed. the operation of the pitot-static instruments, airspeed indicator, altimeter, and vertical speed indicator is discussed. Common errors inherent in the instruments are described. Detailed discussions of V-speeds is provided. Airspeed terms such as indicated airspeed, calibrated airspeed, and true airspeed are defined. Altitude terms such as indicated altitude, true altitude, pressure altitude, and density altitude are also defined. Most slides are narrated, so make sure your speakers are turned on. Allow about 30 minutes to complete the course.
