SHORT COURSE: PROPELLERS

This short course explores the aerodynamics and operation of both fixed-pitch and constant-speed propellers. The principles behind the constant-speed propeller can be confusing, but this course clears up the mystery of the terms like "pitch"and "optimum angle of attack". It also describes the relationship between engine RPM, blade angle, and thrust. The operation of the constant-speed propeller from the pilot's perspective is also described.
